Today begins my internship with Faculty for Israeli-Palestinian Peace. I arrived in Tel Aviv at 5:30am and came directly to Jerusalem to drop off my bag at our hostel and go out to explore. I went through the Muslim Quarter until I recognized where I was, and then went to the Western Wall. After a morning of walking around, all the interns met up for lunch at the Damascus Gate and then more wandering. We stopped at the Austrian Hospice before walking the Via Dolorosa, and then returned to the hostel before dinner. We have a week in Jerusalem before we are each sent off to our assignments at different organizations. Now, though, we are mourning Michael Jackson by blasting Thriller, which I’m sure is greatly appreciated by the other guests.
